Midlife Retreats for Women
Retreats for women are designed for reflection, meaningful connection, and thoughtful exploration of what comes next in this stage of life.
About Our Retreats
These are not traditional wellness retreats centered primarily on yoga, fitness, beauty, or relaxation. They are thoughtfully designed experiences for women who want to pause, step away from daily demands, and consider the full landscape of their lives during midlife.
Midlife often brings changes in identity, health, relationships, work, caregiving, purpose, and priorities. These changes often happen together and can affect one another, sometimes making life feel different or out of place.
At each retreat, we make time to slow down and look at how different parts of life connect, without feeling rushed. With guided reflection, real conversations, hands-on activities, and time with other women, you can notice what needs your attention, see what matters most now, and start making choices that fit your life.
Each retreat is influenced by its location. Depending on where we gather, you might also enjoy rest, gentle movement, time outside, creative activities, good meals, or other ways to recharge. These are nice additions, but the main focus is thoughtful reflection, caring for your well-being, and connecting with other women who are exploring this stage of life with curiosity and purpose.
2027 Midlife Transitions Mini Retreat Series
Founding Cohort at Oldschool Makerspace
Six Thursday Mornings to Pause, Reflect, and Consider What Comes Next
The OSM Midlife Transitions Mini Retreat Series is a six-week, in-person experience created for women who want to explore the changes taking place across their lives with greater clarity, time, and support.
We will meet on six consecutive Thursday mornings, beginning January 21, 2027, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Rather than stepping away for a single day or weekend, we will create a welcoming space to return to each week. This allows you time to reflect, notice what is changing, and gradually connect what you are learning with the life you are actually living.
What We Will Explore
Our gatherings will be guided by Midlife Transitions and its whole-life approach to change. Together, we will consider how different areas of life connect, including identity, health, relationships, work, caregiving, purpose, resources, and personal priorities.
Each week will help you step back and look at the fuller picture of your life. You will have time to recognize what matters to you now, consider what you may want to welcome, protect, prepare for, or release, and begin translating reflection into meaningful and manageable next steps.
This is not about finding quick answers or following someone else’s idea of what your next chapter should look like. It is about giving yourself enough time and space to listen carefully, understand what is changing, and make choices that feel thoughtful, realistic, and genuinely your own.
What Each Thursday Will Feel Like
We will begin with approximately ninety minutes of guided exploration based on Midlife Transitions. I will introduce the book’s ideas and tools in a warm, accessible way, and we will consider how they relate to the experiences women encounter during midlife.
There will also be moments for quiet personal reflection. Weather permitting, you may choose to step into Noonday Garden or outdoor spaces at OSM, find a comfortable place to sit, and spend a little time with your thoughts. You may write, reflect, walk quietly, or simply allow yourself to pause.
We will then gather around the table for a light lunch or seasonal snacks prepared by a professional chef. This will be a relaxed time for conversation, connection, and shared reflection.
There is never any pressure to speak or disclose something personal. You may share as much or as little as feels comfortable. You are equally welcome to listen, reflect privately, and simply be present. My intention is to create a space that feels personal, respectful, unhurried, and genuinely supportive.
A Small Group Experience
The retreat is intentionally designed as a small group experience. Over six weeks, we will have the opportunity to get to know one another, build trust gradually, and create the kind of thoughtful community that cannot be rushed.
You do not need to arrive with a plan or have everything figured out. You may come with a specific question, a change you are already navigating, or simply the feeling that some part of your life deserves greater attention.
Who this retreat is for
The retreat is designed exclusively for women who may be:
- Curious about what the next chapter of life might hold.
- Exploring new perspectives on identity, direction, health, work, relationships, caregiving, or purpose.
- Trying to make sense of several transitions happening at once.
- Feeling that life no longer fully reflects who they are or what they need.
- Deciding what they want to pursue, protect, prepare for, change, or release.
- Looking for a thoughtful setting in which to reflect, connect, and begin moving forward.
You don’t have to be in crisis or making a big decision. Real change can start with curiosity, uncertainty, or simply noticing that something in your life needs more attention.

An Invitation to Begin
These mini retreats offer more than information. They give you protected time to step away from daily demands, look at your life as a whole, and consider what you want to carry forward.
Across six Thursday mornings, we will learn, reflect, spend time outdoors, gather around the table, and explore what it might mean to move into the next part of your life with greater clarity and intention.
You are welcome to begin exactly where you are.
